Happy Birthday Tim!

Today is my big brother's birthday. I have always looked up to and admired Tim. He left to go into the army when I was only 8 years old. Tim has always been the only rational, mature one in the family

He has taken the role of single dad and is raising his three daughters (two of which are hormonal, boy crazy teenagers) and he is doing a wonderful job keeping them in line raising them correctly.

Happy Birthday Big Brother - I love you.

Oh, and in celebration of St. Patrick's Day your birthday, I will be spending the entire day drinking green beer. No need to thank me, it's the least I can do.

Happy Birthday Merissa!

My niece, Merissa Christine is 10 years old today. Merissa is the youngest of three, she has two teenage sisters who are occassionally annoyed by her look out for her.

Merissa is caring, sensitive and a little shy. As most girls, she is a little dramatic at times, and is definitely daddy's little girl. She is Cameron & Mitchell's favorite cousin, and is always more than willing to play with them. I am sure she will make a wonderful mother someday.

Happy 10th Birthday Merissa. I love you.

Happy Birthday Tristen!

My niece, Tristen Renee is 14 today!

Tristen is the middle child and loves golf and drawing. She is competitive, outgoing, has a great sense of humor, her own sense of style, and is very much a typical teenager (way too into boys, make-up, clothes & gossip!).

She asked for clothes & make-up as birthday gifts.

Me: "Didn't I just buy you make-up for Christmas?"
Her: "Yes, but a girl can never have enough make-up!"
Me: "I think the saying is a girl can never have enough shoes."
Her: "I know, but I have a lot of shoes already."

(I bought her shoes/boots for Christmas too!) What can I say, I have two boys, I love spoiling my nieces.)

[Here's a picture of Tristen from about 7 years ago, but it's still my favorite.]

Happy 14th Birthday Tristen. I love you.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my niece Hailey! We celebrated at the roller rink. I forgot how much fun roller skating was. I did biff (only once though)!

Sweet 16

My oldest niece, Brittany Marie, is 16 today.

I was so excited about becoming an aunt for the first time. I waited at the hospital for hours the night before you were born, not realizing that labor and delivery can take awhile.

The next day when I saw you in the nursery, I remember thinking, that can't be MY niece, she's all wrinkly and icky looking. You were beautiful, but I was an egostical 18 year old with very limited exposure to babies.

You are a genuinely wonderful person and I am SO proud to call you my niece and Cameron's Godmother.

Happy 16th Birthday Brittany! I love you.

Mitchell is 1 Today!

Today is Mitchell's first birthday. This last year has went by too fast.

Mitchell is such a joy. He is loving, smart, cautious, observant, playful, curious and friendly. He is known to observe and follow his big brother's lead, occasionally taking control and becoming the leader. He enjoys music and dancing. He gets a big smile on his face when he sees his daddy (but whines/cries when he sees me - hmmmm).

Happy, Happy 1st Birthday Baby Boy! I love you.

Another Party

Today we had Jenna's 4th birthday party.

Even though Cameron wasn't feeling great, he did eat some tacos and jello so that's a good sign that he's getting better! He did enjoy throwing toys in the pool again.

Mitchell was having fun playing with everyone who was holding him and on the blanket with his friend, Chase.

Pool party!

Today was Chase's 1st birthday party. Cameron & Mitchell both loved being in the pool.

Mitchell was lounging in his baby float while chewing on Mermaid Barbie's tail (shh, don't tell daddy he's playing with Barbie).

Cameron was on a floating lounge chair continuously throwing the toys we would give him into the water; taking cups of water and pouring them over his head; and drinking the water from the cups (can't exactly tell him not to since we've been working on getting him to drink from a real cup instead of a sippy).

It was so good to see some old friends and their children who are so grown up now. Boy, it's been too long. They fell in love with our boys and each took one so Dave & I could sit down and eat a little something.

Again, grateful for nice weather, good food, and old friends.

Birthday Party

We had Cameron's 2nd birthday party today. It was at the park and we had great weather. I really appreciate all the help from everyone with the food and keeping an eye on the boys. It was so good to see everyone and their little ones. He really made out on gifts, everyone was so generous. Of course once Cameron got a book he just kept looking at it and could have cared less about anything else. He LOVES his books, I hope that coninues throughout the rest of his life.

I am extremely grateful for family, friends, children, nice weather, and good food (that I never did get a chance to eat). Thank you Jesus for a blessed day.

Mitchell is 9 mos!

Oh my, I truly can't believe my baby is 9 months old already.

Photobucket

Mitchell has been sitting independently for awhile now. He pulls to stand and walks while holding onto your hands, often only one hand! This boy is determined to walk.

Photobucket

He is not, however, crawling. He has no desire to and doesn't like to be on his belly. I truly think he would be happier if he learned to crawl so he could get to the cats and Cameron. He looks up to his big brother soo much and loves it when he "gently" wrestles with him.

What happened to my little baby?

Cameron is 2 Today!

We tied balloons to Cameron's crib so when he would wake up he would know it was his special day. We were hoping to sneak into his room before he woke up, sing happy birthday and see his face light up when he woke up and saw all the balloons. However, he woke up early and I was woken up to the sound of him banging the balloons together.

I can't believe my baby is one year old already. It makes me happy and sad all at the same time.
